Seramyu... what the heck?

Many of you may not know what the Seramyu is. I first found out about it over two years ago, in about July of 2000. Many more of you probably want to know what the heck Seramyu means. Well, my friend, it's quite simple! Seramyu is the nickname for the Live-action Sailormoon musicals. The Japanese are quite lazy in their speech and tend to take shortcuts. For example, many people use "Uranep" to refer to Uranus and Neptune. Cool, huh? Following the example...

Seramyu= Sera mun myujikaru (Sailormoon musical)

Most people have favorite actresses in the musicals. My personal favorite is Ono Hikari, a regular in the musicals. The actresses who portrayed the Threelights are as follows.

Katayama Sayuri played Seiya Kou/Sailorstarfighter.
Okuyama Momoko played Yaten Kou/Sailorstarhealer.
Ono Hikari played Taiki Kou/Sailotstarmaker.

There were four musicals with the Sailor Starlights in them : Sailorstars, Sailorstars kaiteiban, Eien Densetsu, and Eien Densetsu - The Final First Stage! The three actresses stay the same throughout.

Now, you may think I'm crazy for idolizing a group of people I've never even met, much less seen. It's true, I have not seen any of those musicals all the way through. I'm proud to admit that I'm poor. ^^;; Not all anime fans are rich executives that work in ... wait. I don't think ANY anime fans are rich executives. o_O;;; oh well. ^_^ I'm not even in college, so I can't use that as an excuse . . . I'm just a poor high school student. I don't even have a job yet. ::sigh:: Let's get back to the topic at hand, shall we?

Mmkay. There have been over ten musicals to date (May 2002), and the Seramyu has adopted an absolutely HUGE fanbase. Want to find out more? It's easy. If you just go to Yahoo and type in "seramyu" for a search you'll get a shockingly large amount of pages. Perhaps if I find time (not this week -- stupid band) I'll make a link list. Alas, if only I had more time . . .

If you want lyrics to music, Musical Moon has lyrics to almost every Seramyu song, and most of the songs are translated! Nif-tay! Unfortunately, I don't know of any sites at the moment that have Seramyu MP3s. I will NOT upload any, do not ask. Gomen gomen, but I like having my site hosted, ya know? I'll post more information as time allows.
